This week has been a blast we had lots of fun moments and learned many important lessons and ways to work more effectively
We had lots of people to teach this week.
Ruth Gibb- An Older lady close to 80's maybe? Has had contact with LDS church since she was a kid when Church members were passing through Illinois out west. Then there were missionaries who taught their kids since 1980's here and there. We have gone over and taught her multiple times learning about her story and at one time was going to join, but her husband struggled with giving up alcohol to do so. Unfortunately he passed away a few years ago, but she loves the church and even gave us the address of her grand kids for us to have missionaries to visit them there! Plus we may have the opportunity to watch the restoration video as a "movie night" per-se when her family comes over and then answer any questions she has at all.
JIMMY! - We finally were able to contact him again. Spending over an hour at his house as he shared his life story going through the police academy, to planning to be a pastor, to going through divorce, having almost nothing, to where he is now starting a new business. Something I guess he and his brother call "TACO NINJA's"... He shared how he was so down and wants to find something more in his life?
Justin Strutzel- A 10 year old we have been working with is getting baptized next week! His dad Is going to baptize him. It's been long time coming a few things needed happen before we could but now its happening this Saturday!
Ceci Baldwin- Is doing great. She is having a lot of questions about the Book of Mormon and what she is reading; now in 1 nephi 14. Her husband has really shown a lot of progression as well coming back from not being very involved in church. It is awesome to see so much happening lately!
This week I really saw an answer to a prayer. Throughout the week I really learned about responsibility. As a missionary I am called to teach, which by doing this I am putting God first and thus as Matthew 16:25 says I can/will find myself. GOD loves us and we can have confidence in knowing he is there for us! I love this work and am seeing a change in my attitude of this. Life it is glorious! Faith works miracles.
Love you all!
