This week has been a blast. Right on my first day we had lessons planned and taught 3 lessons with a member at our church building!
My new companions, if you did not know, are Elder Pollard and Elder Heywood. My companions are both Zone Leaders. I have learned so much in just this last week about myself and how to contact and do missionary work! I have the opportunity to teach complete lessons and have return appointments as well as talking to literally everyone! Elder Heywood one time parked the car, and by the time I got out he had passed out 1 card and was on his way to pass out another! These are who I get to work with!
One big thing I am learning about is the great power of AGENCY! Agency is the power to choose. It is the power to choose to follow God or Lucifer (the Devil). In 2 Nephi 2:27 it says "Wherefore, men are free according to the flesh; and all things are given them which are expedient unto man. And they are free to choose liberty and eternal life, through the great Mediator of all men, or to choose captivity and death, according to the captivity and power of the devil; for he seeketh that all men might be miserable like unto himself."
In Ether 12:27 it says "And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them."
In these 2 scriptures it shows the great power of 1) being humble, 2) exercising your agency, and 3) reliance on the Lord through prayer! When these three are put together, you have an encompassing Power of Truth; to recognize who you are!
Heavenly Father gives gives us weaknesses and experiences for our benefit. When the Lord gives us these, the adversary comes in and tells us they are bad (when in fact they are to help us), etc. This week's email will be short but I hope this message is powerful!
