This week has really been a bast! We have done all sorts of service this week! We helped build a shelf for a family in our ward, the Arnold's. We helped move furniture out of their house so they could get new flooring in it as well as work at The Bishops Storehouse (A Place where one can go to find food storage items and receive help and have food provided for their families.)
Well at a members house this week while sitting down to prepare to share the scripture, I opened up the Book of Mormon and found one I wanted to share, but closed it and couldn't remember where it was at. While looking for it, I opened up to a different one. One that I had read that morning. After sharing the scripture, they said,"thank you for sharing that we really need to hear that!" It was great to see how through this event Heavenly Father allowed us to share a message and say the right words that they needed especially in the time they are in right now. With the mom going through chemo therapy.
Joyce- Who we have been teaching for a while is in her 80's and has been really fun to teach because she shares how great she is but is super honest and kind. Within the last week she has suddenly opened up sharing experiences and desires to do something more like READING. When we ask her to read she will say no I won't promise. But now she commits to reading and learn more about the gospel!
Justin Strutzel (pictured below with his Dad) 10 years old Got baptized this week ! YAY!
Then my studies have been so good this week. In reading the scriptures I have seen the desire to share the gospel so much. If you want to share the gospel read the scriptures then you will know what to say and desire to be better and help others become better.
In 2 Nephi 32: 8- 9
8 And now, my beloved brethren, I perceive that ye ponder still in your hearts; and it grieveth me that I must speak concerning this thing. For if ye would hearken unto the a Spirit which teacheth a man to b pray , ye would know that ye must c pray ; for the d evil spirit teacheth not a man to pray, but teacheth him that he must not pray.
9 But behold, I say unto you that ye must apray always, and not faint; that ye must not perform any thing unto theLord save in the first place ye shall bpray unto the Father in the cname of Christ, that he will dconsecrate thy performance unto thee, that thy performance may be for the ewelfare of thy soul.
If have the Spirit and listen to it. You will be able to pray throughout the day. When you read the scriptures you are doing things that allow the Holy Ghost a.k.a The spirit, to have place in you. So if you read the scriptures you will be able to pray throughout the day!
Love you all!
