As the title says we are having the worst drought in southern California on record. Found that out about ooooo a week late :P ITS GREAT BEING A MISSIONARY! XD
OH and we are teaching English NOW ! <----- you probably think i am so funny right now.....
But we really are a media referral came in on Wednesday about a person Jin Lee. We gave him a call and he said he would like to learn English so we made an appointment to meet at the church. We introduced our self and started to talk. Then we some how got into helping him with a list of words he wanted to practice pronouncing. Then at the end of our meeting he says can we pray,(at this point we didn't even know he was religious, did not ask the question :P) so we did and then said good bye. Since then we met with him again with a member who previously taught English at the church. So that was a big help he started doing all these exercises with pronunciation. HERE'S the best part. oh i should probably say his English is very good he is able to understand really anything we say and he can read just perfectly, but his desire is to be able to learn to better express himself smooth and complete sentences(yet he can make complex sentences all on his own.) We used the RESTORATION PAMPHLET! We all went around reading through it and then asking him questions like who is heavenly father to you. Pretty much we found from this that his new years resolution is to learn English as well as read the new testament 5 times and the old testament 2 times, in English all the way through!!!! we ran out of time to give him a book of Mormon and introduce it to him(we have a Korean copy too :D ) But we will next time! HE IS SUCH AN AMAZING PERSON and soooooo nice :) ps. has been here 25 years with 2 daughters 27 and 23.
So The only thing i have left other then this is that WE FINALLY GOT our goal of more then 4 members present lessons. WE HAD 6 actual lessons this week, but to get this we had to go on splits twice (This means elder counts and I each go with a member to teach) and have 4 members with us not including the amount of times we called people to even have it happen. THE WORK IS HARD BUT SOO WORTH IT! we were blessed, when we set the goal last week of 6 (we had not even gotten 4 consistently/more then once). The Blessing for stretching our selves was 6 member presents and 2 of those were with JIN LEE!
SO in closing always stretch your self see as our vision for the mission states "See What You Can Do!". AS you do the most you can do the Lord will fill in the rest !
I HOPE YOU ALL ARE HAVING AN AMAZING TIME!
don't forget STAY FROSTY <------------it will keep you moving so you stay warm TeeHee
