This week has been great. I have truly learned a lot. We had a lot of success.
This week we had a lot happen our investigators are progressing they are reading and wanting to change, Well Angie Picone specifically. She has been taught by the missionaries for a long time since Sister Henderson and Young last year. Angie and her Boyfriend and "husband" have been going through trial after trail or so she feels. Recent experiences such as sincere prayer and having another kid. She talks most of the time we are there . Also, she recognizes the spirit that is present and when we mention she has learned something she acknowledges it.
Yesterday we were able to meet with her again! She was so open and sharing so much of what has been going on. As we talk with her she opens up and responds to the thoughts and promptings she feels from the Holy Ghost. It changes her every time we come. She expresses that she feels such a burden lifted when we are done. She asked us "how she can build or fix the cracks she has on her 'spiritual foundation'? feeling that it is crack or even crumbling with the experiences she is having. We had mentioned building a spiritual foundation. This coming when they shared their experiences they have had recently with prayer and strengthen their belief in God as well as a realization that the problems come from them.
Joyce has not read yet and there may be some changes in teaching her if she doesn't .
Jimmy - we meet with him again tonight to see if he has read. I need to call him and follow up with him earlier.
Then Alma 8:30-32 Alma and Amulek did everything and suffered all they did so that they could have opportunities for God to show the people their need to repent. In other words create experiences for the people to have and recognize their weakness's AKA humble themselves or be humbled. All this they did for they had such a desire and knowledge of what God wanted to happen they suffered being thrown in prison to do it and show it that they had such faith and patience as they served God! This hit me so hard especially to truly learn that God loves us so much that he does not make us suffer as punishment but to show us our weaknesses and remember who He is!
Eric Is great. Our lesson with him this week went great as he watched the entire Prophet of the Restoration movie, directly after we met with him the time before, which is an hour or more long. Also, he read Alma 11 and did more research into Joseph Smith. Going to BYU website to confirm! He wants to know something whether truth or something. He is putting a lot of time into reading/looking for understanding. Even praying to keep an open mind.
TO LEARN you have to exercise faith. When you read the scriptures you exercise faith. When you READ YOU LEARN! I know this church is true!
