HELLO EVERYONE! well it is almost Christmas!
It is so weird here having warm weather during December! I keep forgetting what day it is. This week has been so much fun, though, The people in the ward are just amazing! The ward mission leader as well as each of leaders of elders quarm etc. are into the pushing member missionaries.
We were able to go out with almost 5 different members including 1 split throughout the week as well as sharing the moments during the 3rd hour of church!
We had a Christmas Conference this week where we watched the Christmas Devotional as well as training from president Tew. Also, a white elephant gift exchange where we all bought different things some people wrapped things in construction paper, paper towels, boxes, tape etc. To pass the gifts around they read the Christmas story "up on the roof top I heard such a clatter" one, every time left or right was said we passed it that direction. I ended up with a family size of chips a-hoy....though it took five minutes plus a knife to get through the tape-wrapping!
This week we also got full pies I got rhubarb that members bought us ;)!
As many of you know or have seen in pictures, we have a small tree. Well, yesterday we had a very surprising Sunday. So, a member gives us a call asking if we are home so they can come by we say, yes of course. Once we get out there we find out they got us a full blown REAL Christmas tree! I have never had one before. yay :D Without much to decorate we got creative using things in the apartment as seen below :)
Then one last thing as I said in the past we have a goal to knock one door a day. So last week we did that choosing one we felt prompted to. It Turned out to be someone named P.C. 2 days ago we went on splits and taught him inviting him to church on Sunday. Saturday night we got to visit quick. I have never seen someone so happy to go to church. His suit was set out as well for the next day! Best of all he came on Sunday! when he got there he said things like, you don't know how many excuses i came up with this morning not to come to church today! but he did i cant wait to continue to teach him!
THIS WILL BE THE CHRISTMAS TO REMEMBER!
Dont forget "Stay Frosty!"
YOUR FRIEND,
Elder VanKammen :)
