LIFE = A DAY TO DAY FUN ACTIVITY!
That means that we need to have fun in life :)
This week I had the opportunity to go on 3 Exchanges. Exchanges are when a missionary and his companion exchange with 2 other missionaries. It is done when the District Leader (a missionary who is called to watch over a certain number of missionaries usually 4-8) wants to increase contacts in the area. These were some of the best days, tiring, but so much fun! We got to talk to so many people learn a lot and teach people the gospel!
We talked to a guy from Jamaica with a super strong testimony and love for God. This made my day!
Another we just contacted is a guy and right off the bat we asked "do you have 10 min. for us to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with you." We didn't know much about him, but shared with him how God loves him and that repentance means to change. By the end we found how he had struggled so much in his life with drugs, jail, etc but he saw that his parents always loved him! He wanted to change his life so much and Turn around. Though we did not get his address and number I know it was for a reason.
Then we contacted a girl, Gabby. who had Just got off of work and heading home. She had talked to missionaries about 4 years ago and had a copy of the Book of Mormon. By the end we shared with her the Gospel of Jesus Christ and had a prayer with her. :)
Another one we ran into a guy who was younger, Thomas. We had just finished a lesson and felt that there was someone else we needed to talk to so we headed further downtown Long Beach. We walked around and by the help of Heavenly Father we ran into Thomas. Gave him a Book of Mormon and got a return appointment. He works at the Boys and Girls club helping out a lot of people (kids) struggling. He is doing it because he was one of those kids and trying to repay the charity! I cant wait to teach him again.
Last one. We had run out of plans for the night so Elder Roe and I headed back to the car (this was my second exchange) to look at a stack of potential sheets (people who have been talked to by missionaries and wanted to know more). So I said " choose a number between 1 and 10" he said"11" so i went to the 11 page. "Choose a number between 1 and 15" . he said 6. I counted 6 names down and it said, "Gabby Talks fast." We didn't know who she was so we headed to her house. We knocked, no one answered. Then an older lady starts walking from the back ally. It ended up being her house. The person, Gabby, had moved BUT Andrea, a 68 year old African american had moved in. One thing led to another and in 10 min. we had gone from knocking a door to teaching Andrea a quick Plan Of Salvation Lesson! She was so ready!
Heavenly Father is always there for us. When we are willing to act and just go for it even when you don't know what to do. you will find your answer! YOU CAN DO IT NOW!
