Well yet another great week in California! The weather has been pretty nice rained a few days in the morning but all in all wonderful time! Its weird to think that It has been almost 2 weeks I have been in Long beach and almost my 1 month since becoming a missionary! It was a slower week in terms of teaching lessons we had a lot of time going door to door knocking and at nights contacting on the street. There seems to be a funny pattern though with the investigators we are finding :p and setting up return appointments....They are all very open minded to learning and not against trying new things in the since of religion and even things in general. A mission is so much fun though it seems like it is difficult when you think about it 2 years away from "the world" and only contacting through email...hey its 11:11 make a wish XD......but we get to talk to so many people and share a message and invite others to come closer to Christ :)
Now for the investigator weather report....
Brother R, our 85 year old investigator is doing amazing its little by little but he is improving. Its a little crazy how he before I got here missionaries were having more trouble with teaching him because he was not remembering things so much. Since Elder counts and I have taught him he is praying everyday seeking to know if he should be baptized. Its an amazing thing that every missionary that has come to teach him in the last 40 years has planted that much better a seed that he is able to be at this point at this time in his life :) We feel that the 21st will be the day:)
M our investigator from lebanon is so amazing and open minded we were able to meet with him at Starbucks and he is so willing to read the Book of mormon. Though the hard part is helping him develop faith in what he reads to know its true and pray about it.
Brother H is a less active, his wife is active, that never really was active in the church and never willing to really talk to missionaries but about 5 months ago had a stroke in and was paralyzed on his left side. This last week we met with him and it was one of the most amazing experience. we had just finished teaching M and felt that went well. something still felt like there was something we were to learn so we got home had a little time before meeting with brother H my companion did a little studying and was directed/promoted to read a scripture that talked about having a "eye single to the glory of god " he couldn't figure out what it meant so he mentioned it to me but i had nothing. So we went to the H family with really no lesson really planned. The next two hours bro hawker who normally didn't talk with us much helped us realize this through his experiences and scriptures. how great it is that we can learn so much from each other !
well that's all i have time for this weather report until next week
Thanks giving was great we went to a members home and have this amazing turky that ws so moist and some how seasoned it in a way that the flavor was through out the entire chicken! Brother D is works at the military base in los alamitos and invited us to take a tour of the base ! this will be so much fun. Then when we left gave us these these MRE meals ready to eat . still have to try them but he says that they are really good just make sure to drink alot of water :P
Well thank you everyone for the support and keep in touch THE FIELDS ARE WHITE AND READY TO HARVEST. Move forward always, never back :)

Sincerely,
Elder VanKammen :)
